"Picture Book Yoga" Webinar is LIVE!

Back in November, I delivered an online course to 12x12 Challenge, a group which motivates and inspires its members to write 12 picture book manuscripts throughout the year. Julie Hedlund has been running the group since 2012, and in addition to supporting members in the writing challenge, she also provides wonderful resources to its members, like the webinar series for which I was a guest speaker.

The talk I gave was called "Picture Book Yoga: Bending Twisting and Stretching Your Manuscript Into Shape" and it was all about picture book REVISION. Up until now it was only viewable to members of 12 x 12, but now it's available to everyone HERE!

Turns out, revising a manuscript has a LOT in common with practicing yoga.

If you enroll in the webinar, you can listen to me discuss the when, where, why, who, and how of picture book revision, with silly/savvy references to yoga throughout. There's a section on how you might know when your manuscript is “finished” (spoiler: it's similar to the feeling during savasanah).

I share the most common issues I see when working with clients on picture book manuscript critiques, and give you the tools to start editing your own manuscript. I also elaborate on The "So-What?" Test which I blogged about a couple of years ago.

And, um, I even "sing" to demonstrate pitch and tone in a picture book plot. EEK!

If you feel like you don't quite have the dough right now for a one-to-one critique, this webinar is the next best thing. If you'd like to watch my 12x12 Challenge webinar on "Picture Book Yoga," you can enroll in the course HERE.

I had so much fun preparing and delivering this online course, and I hope you have fun watching it. Please feel free to drop me a line to let me know what you thought of the webinar (and my singing voice). I'd love to hear from you!

P.S. Shout out to Yoga With Adriene, where I go for my real yoga practice. Thanks for the inspiration!
